New Leaf Program
Step 1. Sign up for and attend a Career Center Seminar which will provide you with an overview of benefits of the Workforce Central Re-entry Services. A Job Developer will briefly meet with you to discuss your work history and employment goals at the close of the seminar. Seminars are held Monday – Thursday. Please check the workshop calendar located at the reception desk or our website, www.workforcecentralma.org for dates and times.
Step 2. Register for and attend the New Leaf Workshop, which provides important information, tips, and strategies for overcoming employer concerns, presenting yourself as a strong candidate, and preparation for finding employment appropriate for your background.
Step 3. It is recommended that you attend the Job Search Strategies and the Résumé Writing & Cover Letter Workshops. You’ll then be able to come in and work on your résumé in our Resource Library. There is also the Bar None Legal Clinic Workshop for those who may need additional assistance with CORI related issues. This workshop is designed to help Worcester County residents obtain and seal their criminal record. Although it is not mandatory, we recommend taking the New Leaf Workshop prior to attending the Bar None Legal Clinic Workshop.
Following through with assigned tasks can improve your employment readiness and may be viewed by an employer as proof of rehabilitation.
The key to success is knowing how to present yourself in a positive manner and showing initiative!
